Paxster AS has developed a range of electric vehicles and since 2013 we are supplying last mile distribution companies globally, focusing on ergonomic, efficient, and environmentally friendly solutions for delivery in urban and suburban areas.
Most of us realize that a change is required in the logistics industry to be able to handle the change we are now experiencing around densely populated city centres, caused by the rapid increase in online shopping, changed consumer habits and increased expectations for shorter delivery times, more flexibility and lower prices related to home delivery of goods ordered online.
In most countries, there is an explosive increase in the number of packages that are distributed both to companies and to households. 40% of these packages are smaller than a shoebox in size and 30% of all deliveries are single deliveries. The strong growth in home delivery is of course largely related to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the changing consumer behaviour will be permanent.
There will no longer be room for half-full vans and cars that take up space in the cityscape and we must find good, sustainable solutions together, to solve the challenges we face. It is therefore important that both business, industry and politicians play together. The logistics solutions must be changed, and we must adapt for more environmentally friendly solutions very soon.
A Paxster is ¼ the size of a typical delivery van, but in most cases does the job well enough and often better. Very often, it is not necessary to use big vehicles with 4-5 times the weight of a Paxster, as this is unfavourable, both in terms of the environment, safety and space in the cityscape. Less space, less noise, less weight, less airborne dust, lower power consumption is something we all benefit from.
The vast majority of municipalities have space for a Paxster in one or more of their business areas.
