The highlight of the day, just as last year, was the Smart City Debate which attracted a lot of spectators. In fact, so many came that quite a few had to follow the debate from the entrance hall where the debate was streamed. The theme this year was the challenge posed by how new technologies promote new business models and challenge the status quo. This is illustrated by municipalities that rent out cars and meeting roomw, or by the country’s largest car dealership starting with car sharing. Smart Cities Norway invited a panel consisting of smart city enthusiast from public and private sector to take the temperature on cooperation and for dialogue on how to co-create when the climate of competition changes.
