This is an introductory and inspirational course on what open data is and what can be achieved when data is made open to everyone. We will show examples of apps and visualisations that use open data. We will look at how data must be prepared so that it’s easy to use and how to publish it so that the data is available for everyone. We will also show how hackathons and smart city weekend events inspire entrepreneurs and civic hackers to create solutions for citizens.
