Dr. Young-sook Nam is a former Secretary General of WeGO (World e-Governments Organization of Cities and Local Governments). She was also a Professor at Ewha Womans University’s Graduate School of International Studies and held senior-level positions in the Korean government and international organizations abroad. As the Director of ICT Investment & Cooperation at the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) of Korea, she oversaw the Ministry’s global ICT cooperation, with the primary purpose of bridging the global digital divide through development assistance in the ICT sector. Dr. Nam also gained vast experience in policy making, international cooperation, and sustainable development in her previous posts at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), International Labor Office (ILO), Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade (MOFAT), and Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP). Dr. Nam received her M.A. in Economics and Ph.D. in International Development from Stanford University.
